2019 was the first full year of operation for the Avenir Centre in Moncton.
The General Manager says they’ve attracted a number of big acts, and they’re happy with the results so far.
Nick DeLuco says, “Some of the bigger shows he thinks of, include Bryan Adams, Def Leppard and Cirque de Soleil..’
He adds their main tenants have done a great job attracting the fans, “That was a big concern of people that bringing the teams downtown that the attendance would go down, but the Magic had a great year and won a title. The Wildcats also had a good year as well and they are on their way to do the same thing again this year. The two tenants were great and the attendance was great and hopefully we’ll just keep building on that.”
He says more positive exposure for the centre will mean even bigger and better acts will want to come to Moncton.
“Emails or letters that I have forwarded off to agents and promoters if I think an event can work here. We do take that feedback in. Some of it is realistic, while some of it isn’t, but we’re always listening and I read them all,” DeLuco says.
Some of the bigger shows DeLuco thought of include Bryan Adams, a sold out Def Leppard show and Cirque de Soleil.
“It’s a new building, it’s a newer market. It is getting the building out there and talking to agents and talking to promoters. It is growing Moncton again and showing them what we have. It is building towards something bigger and better every single year,” DeLuco says.
