Habitat For Humanity Making Plans For More Homes In 2020

Three families became first time homeowners in 2019 thanks to Habitat for Humanity in Southeast New Brunswick.

Executive Director Chantal Landry says they are focusing on a few areas for 2020, to make even more dreams come true, “In the Miramichi area, and we’re looking in Greater Moncton, but we have nothing committed formally as of yet.”

Landry says they are hoping to make official announcements in January or February, so they can start taking applications from interested families and donors.

“Our hope is to find many volunteers, and bring community together to build houses. That is exactly what we are going to do next year. We are going to be reaching out to the communities to come together to create housing opportunities to new families;lies in the area,” Landry says,

In 2019, three homes, in Port Elgin, Bouctouche and Rogersville were donated to Habitat for Humanity..Chosen families have moved in and spent their first Christmas as homeowners.
