Volunteers Sought For Christmas Food Box Deliveries

It’s Christmas Food Box delivery day in Greater Moncton.

Volunteers have been busy at the Coliseum filling more than 1700 food boxes which include turkeys.

Food Depot Alimentaire president Dale Hicks says if you have a vehicle and a couple of hours to spare today, they are looking for you.

Doors at the Coliseum will open at noon for pick-ups.

“You see people starting to show up around 10:30 or 11am to get in line. We have people out in the parking lot to line people up. We start delivering, the cars start rolling in around noon. I think last year it was shortly after 3pm before we had everything done,” he notes.

Hicks says some deliveries are often done on Saturday as well due to wrong addresses.

Donations are still being sought to help fill the boxes.

Each box has an $80 value and donations can be made in person at the Food Depot or online at www.fooddepot.ca
