Volunteer firefighters are getting a break on licence plate fees.
The provincial government is eliminating the $50 cost, starting on January 2.
Currently, around 500 volunteer firefighter plates on average are issued each year.
Firefighter plates were introduced in 2001 at the request of the New Brunswick Association of Fire Chiefs.
