N.B. Looks To Expand Sunday Hunting

Hunters in New Brunswick may soon have more opportunities to hunt on Sundays.

The province has introduced changes to expand Sunday hunting to include every Sunday between the weekend after Thanksgiving until Dec. 31.

Currently, hunting is only allowed on three Sundays between late October and mid-November.

Natural Resources and Energy Development Minister Mike Holland said the move will increase recreational opportunities for the thousands of New Brunswickers who enjoy hunting.

“Hunting on Sunday is a reflection of the busy work and personal lives of outdoors people rather than a wildlife management, conservation or sustainability issue,” said Holland in a news release.

Holland went on to say the changes are in response to ongoing requests from hunters.

If passed, the proposed changes would take effect in 2020.
