Construction of the new North end YMCA is on track, with a full enclosure expected by the end of November..
The new satellite facility is being built on a piece of land between Evergreen Drive and Ecole Le Sommet, along what will be an extension of Twin Oaks Drive.
Work on the two story 35,000 square foot facility began in the spring.
CEO for YMCA of Greater Moncton Zane Korytko says much of the base work for the key features including the indoor splash pad and the walking track have been completed.
It will include an indoor walking track and fitness and other community programs.
The cost for the new facility is 15 million dollars..Federal and provincial governments have each committed $4 million each to the project while the City of Moncton is contributing $6 million, $2 million of which is for road development. The YMCA will be responsible for the remainder.
Korytko says everything is progressing on time and on budget.
The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2020.
