Moncton Wildcats Ready To Roar At Homeopener

For those who gathered outside the Avenir Centre over the lunch hour today, it was all about climate action, but later tonight, it’ll be all about the Moncton Wildcats.

They’ll play their season homeopener against the Acadia-Bathurst Titan.

Spokesperson Courtney Huestis says the excitement will begin in the Ian Fowler Oval at 5 o’clock, with activities and live entertainment.

Fans will head indoors prior to the 7 o’clock start for more excitement.

“The Pre-game show will be a little different. Last year was more of a cultural piece to opening the new building. This year, it is more about the energy and more about hockey. We have a big show lined up before puck drop inside as well, so it should be an exciting night, ” Huestis says.

The fans and the players are excited for tonight’s game, but Huestis says so is the team mascot, “Wild Willie is ready to go. He is probably one of the most popular ones on the team in general. Fans always love to see him, and he’ll be here.”

If you’re still looking for tickets, you can get them online at Ticketmaster or at the Subaru of Moncton box office at the Avenir Centre.

Huestis adds, “We also play back here on Sunday at 4pm against Charlottetown, so if you can’t make it on Friday, you can come on Sunday.”
