Students have been back at school for a week now and are starting to settle in.
Director of Schools for Anglophone East Pamela Wilson has this reminder for parents whose children have special needs, or if there are concerns, that communication is the key.
“Communicate often with the school and the child’s teachers as well as the Administration at the school. Don’t wait to address the issues. Teachers and Administrators really would rather know about any concerns to work on them right away with the parents,” Wilson says.
If your child has special medical needs, such as allergies, you should also let the school know.
“There are medical forms under our policy 704 on the website. The parents and the school will fill out and discuss together to ensure the school has a plan and is aware of each students medical needs,” Wilson says.
