Fire Damages Basement Apartment In Moncton

Moncton Fire battled a blaze overnight in a basement apartment on Preston Crescent.

Acting Platoon Chief Brian Mcdonald says the call came in just before 11pm, and 15 firefighters were on scene.

They managed to put it out quickly, and damage was contained it to the basement.

Macdonald says the residents evacuated and were expected to stay at a hotel for the night..
