Police say one person has died after a head-on crash on Highway 7 near Petersville Hill.
RCMP Cpl. Jullie Rogers-Marsh said the collision happened shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Rogers-Marsh said the crash involved a heavy-duty pick-up truck hauling equipment and a second vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle died from their injuries, she said. No one else was hurt.
A caller to our newsroom said smoke from the crash scene could be seen from two kilometres away.
The vehicles were in the ditch along the northbound side of the highway but debris covered lanes in both directions.
Due to a collision, Highway 07 near Petersville is currently closed. Traffic is being diverted.

Highway 7 northbound will remain closed between Welsford and Geary for the next few hours. Traffic is being detoured to Route 101 through Fredericton Junction.
Police expect more details will be released later on Tuesday.
