UPDATE: Three Men Killed In Single Vehicle Crash

Southeast RCMP say speed may have been a factor in a single vehicle crash which claimed three lives on the Trans Canada Highway between the Harrisville Boulevard and Shediac Road exits.

Around 5:45pm Sunday, Mounties say the vehicle was heading east when it left the road, rolled and landed in the median.

Three men, two 24-year-olds and a 29-year-old, who were seated in the back were ejected from the vehicle.

Two men died at the scene while a third man died in hospital.

The 28-year-old male driver was also taken to hospital and later released and a 25-year-old man in the front seat wasn’t hurt.

The driver was later taken into custody but released on a promise to appear in court on December 13.

The five men are international students attending a post-secondary institution in Saint John.

Mounties want to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the crash, a 2018 silver-coloured four-door Subaru Outback with New Brunswick licence plate NDZ 829.

Contact Southeast District RCMP at 506-387-2222 if you have any information which could help in the investigation.
