Cape Enrage To Build Fog-Harnessing Fence

Thanks to some federal funding, Cape Enrage will be adding a few new innovative features to its interpretive centre.

Fundy Royal MP, Alaina Lockhart says just over 63 thousand dollars have been awarded to help build a fog-harnessing fence.

“They have a whole program that they will be working with students to create. It will harness the fog and it will condense and turn it into water. So it gives the opportunity to talk about why fog exists and how it dissipates and having a practical use for it aswell,” says Lockhart.

They will also be working on creating an informative tour on fossils as well as the fog.

“At the same time, [visitors] get a chance to take a look at the fossils that are all along the shoreline at Cape Enrage and really spend some time understanding the geology of the area as well,” says Lockhart.

Alaina Lockhart, MP for Fundy Royal, says this will also help support the Cape’s employees.

“They will have a more hands-on way to tell the story of the area as well. They’ll be working with their employers to develop their knowledge base on fog and fossils and all that goes along with the Bay of Fundy,” she says.

These initiatives will allow residents and visitors to enjoy Cape Enrage and its natural beauty on both foggy and clear days.

Lockhart says projects like this play an important role in encouraging tourists to visit more rural areas in Atlantic Canada.
