Funeral Details For Lieutenant-Governor

A funeral service will be held Thursday for New Brunswick’s lieutenant-governor.

Jocelyne Roy Vienneau passed away from cancer last Friday at the age of 63.

Vienneau became the province’s 31st lieutenant-governor in October of 2014.

Before that, she was vice-president at l’Université de Moncton’s Shippagan Campus and worked at the New Brunswick Community College in Bathurst for 23 years.

Vienneau is survived by her husband, Ronald, her mother, two children and two grandchildren.

She also leaves behind one brother, seven sisters, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held in Robertville, just outside of Bathurst, at 11 a.m. Thursday.
