UPDATE: Scoudouc Home Destroyed By Fire

Two residents in a Scoudouc home managed to escaped unharmed after a fire broke out at around 4:30 this morning.

Shediac Fire Captain Julien Boudreau says there was heavy fire coming from the front of the home on Route 132.

Boudreau says it only took around 20 minutes to douse the flames, but because it was an older home with a lot of renovations, there was still fire smoldering in smaller spaces.

Dieppe and Cocagne fire departments were called in to assist.

Firefighters were on scene for around five hours.

Boudreau says the home is destroyed.

There is no word on a cause yet.
