Breathe Yoga Fest Returns To Riverfront Park

Riverfront park will be filled with good vibes on Saturday for the 3rd annual Breathe Yoga Fest.

The even runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature a number of classes, workshops and live entertainment.

It’s the largest event of its kind in Atlantic Canada and co-founder Gail Collins says it has even gotten attention outside of the Maritimes.

“People are applying from even as far as Ottawa and Montreal to facilitate a class or a workshop or even express interest in being a vendor. So things are really starting to take off and we’re definitely gaining that momentum of interest which is really quite amazing,” Collins says.

She says there is something for attendees of all ages.

“There’s something for kids, there’s something on nutrition and round-table discussions on limiting your plastic use and obviously all types of yoga as well,” says Collins.

New this year is the kids zone. Collins says they noticed many kids were participating in previous years and wanted to offer them something special.

Collins says last year the event attracted over 15 hundred attendees and expects this year’s number will be closer to 25 hundred.

Volunteers are still needed for the event, anyone interested should head to the breathe yoga fest website and click ‘get involved’.
