ImaginAIR Festival Soars Into Third Year

Over 80 international kite-flyers will be featured at the ImaginAIR Festival this weekend

The 3 day festival runs from July 26 to the 28th at Dover Park in Dieppe. This is the 3rd year for the event under its new brand.

The festival’s theme is a mix of kites and circus, including buskers, fire performers and of course kites!

New attractions this year include a clown invasion where 30 clowns will be on site entertaining festival.

Gabrielle Maillet, community officer with the community of Dieppe says they’ve also added the running of the bulls to the schedule.

“You have to battle the wind with a kite attached to your back and its a race to get across the finish line first,” says Maillet.

She adds that the Saturday evening festivities are always a hit.

“We have a circus show and then after we have a night flight which is a light and colour kite show, followed by fireworks,” Maillet says.

She says they’ll be holding their annual giant water balloon fight again but this year it will be followed by a family picnic.

There are also a number of shows, outdoor activities and workshops.

Entry fee for the festival is only 2 dollars per person and is an event for the entire family.
