Outage Leaves Over 30,000 Without Power

Over 30,000 residents in Greater Moncton were without power for several hours today.

NB Power Spokesperson Sheila Lagace says broken equipment on a transmission line caused the outage.

Crews worked to transfer the affected customers to adjacent supply in order to make the repairs.
Most of the customers were restored by late afternoon. Lagace says the remaining customers are expected to be restored by early evening.
