Another dead North Atlantic right whale has been spotted drifting in the Gulf of St. Lawrence northeast of the Magdalen Islands.
It was noticed during a Transport Canada aerial surveillance flight on Wednesday.
Fisheries officers located the whale and were able to install a satellite tag on it.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is now looking at the options relating to recovering the whale and performing a necropsy.
DFO is expected to release more details soon.
