Memorial Run Remembers RCMP Officers 5 Years On

Over a thousand community members of all ages gathered in Bore Park Sunday morning.

The 6th annual Three Fathers Memorial Run was held in honour of RCMP Officers Douglas Larche, Dave Ross and Fabrice Gevaudan.

The three Mounties were shot and by a gunman in the city’s north end five years ago.

The first run was held only 11 days after the incident.

Nadine Larche, widow of officer Larche, is one of the run’s organizers. She says this year’s turnout was the best since the first run.

The event kicked off with the national anthem accompanied by a military jet fly-by.

Funds raised through the event go towards Three Fathers Memorial scholarships, offered at the 6 local highschools served by the Codiac RCMP.
