Riverview Ward 2 Councillor John Coughlan has been elected Deputy Mayor following a motion during yesterday’s Regular Council Meeting.
The deputy mayor represents the mayor at public events when she cannot attend and chair council meetings in the absence of the mayor.
A new deputy mayor is elected every year.
Mayor Ann Seamans thanks outgoing Deputy Mayor Tammy Rampersaud for her service over the last year.
Deputy Mayor Coughlan will serve in this role until next May.
