Man Sentenced To Four Years In Prison For Discharging Firearm At RCMP Detachment

A 26-year-old man from the Tobique First Nation has been sentenced in connection with charges related to shots being fired at the local RCMP detachment last spring.

On May 20, 2018, members arrived at the Tobique First Nation RCMP detachment to find several bullet holes in the side and the back of the building.

No one was injured in the incident.

A man was arrested the following day in connection with the investigation.

On May 25, 2018, Nekko Dominique was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited

He appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on Friday and was sentenced to four years in prison and is prohibited from owning firearms for life.
