Riverview Town Council has approved $1.3 million to renovate the Lion Ken Gabbey Community Pool.
Councillor Jeremy Thorne says this project has been a long time coming and he appreciates the support from council.
“I think this is important to the community. I went to the pool when I was young and I plan to take my son there when he’s ready,” notes Thorne.
The project includes rebuilding the main structure along with upgrades to the pool.
This summer’s pool season will not be affected since construction won’t begin until after Labour Day.
The new pool is expected to be ready by early summer 2020.
