Fan Support Continues To Grow For Moncton Magic

The Moncton Magic will be looking to the seal the deal in the first round of the playoffs tonight.

They are up two games to none in the best of five series against the Saint John Riptide.

Moosehead Breweries has given away 3900 tickets to get Riptide fans pumped.

But Moncton fan Deanna Steeves, says it’s not going to make a difference, “There have been times where their Announcer had to turn the music up to drown us out because we come with horns and bells and our mouths and we let our presence be known there.”

Steeves knows all of the players well, and they call her Mama Dee.

“I love the game. It is an electric, fast paced, exciting game. The quality of the play and the slam dunks and the three point shots. It is something you have to see to really understand,” Steeves says.

She has been there since the day a professional basketball team was announced for Moncton, and has only missed two and a half games in eight years.

“Being in first place all season and starting off in first place overall in the playoffs, so that the Moncton Magic had home court advantage. The boys have played their hearts out all year and they deserve this so, so much,” Steeves says.”

Tonight’s tip-off is at 7 o’clock at Saint John Harbour Station.
