Demanding Justice For Diesel

Nearly 100 protesters gathered outside a courthouse in Woodstock, NB yesterday.

The room was filled with animal rights activists demanding justice for Diesel the dog who was left to die inside a rental building back in 2015 after his owner, Kyle Springer was asked to move for failing to pay rent.

NBSPCA agents and the RCMP estimate that DIESEL had been alone in the home without food for at least 2 months, and that he had died approximately 3 days before being found.

As a result of an online petition, Mission PAWSible, an animal rights advocacy group gathered just under 85 thousand signatures.

The group asked the Crown to present two binders full of citizens who also wanted to see the situation brought to justice, however their request was denied.

Judge Julian Dickson reserved his decision until later this month, but said Springer will spend some time in jail. Springer has been remanded into custody until then.
