It seems we can’t shake winter just yet. New Brunswickers can expect snow throughout the day Monday and into Monday night, thanks to a low pressure system from the Great Lakes.
Northern parts of the province will see five to 15 cm of snow, while central and southern regions could see 15 to 20 cm.
Environment Canada meteorologist Ming Szeto says the snow will likely last all day.
“We’re looking at snow to develop Monday morning, and it’s going to last all day and taper off to flurries Monday night and Tuesday morning,” he said in an interview.
Environment Canada says the Moncton area can expect about five to 10 centimetres of snow by Tuesday morning.
Strong southeasterly winds could also reduce visibility in blowing snow Monday afternoon and evening.
Szeto says snow in spring isn’t uncommon, but it isn’t welcome either.
“I don’t think it’s all that unusual, I mean we do get storms in April, it’s not out of the ordinary. Although it’s not what most people want, but I guess we can’t control Mother Nature.”
