Man Dies After Water Rescue Near Bouctouche

A 68-year-old man has died following a water rescue near Bouctouche.

RCMP Constable Ricky Leblond says they responded on Tuesday afternoon to reports of a capsized boat.

Two men were out fishing off the coast of Saint Thomas-de-Kent.

Bouctouche Fire and members from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre managed to pull the men from the water.

A 57-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 68-year-old man was flown to Moncton Hospital where he died.

Leblond says both men are from the Bouctouche area.
