Both Snow And Rain In The Forecast For Greater Moncton

We remain under two warnings this morning, both a snowfall warning and a rainfall warning.

Some schools in the province are closed today, but not in the Greater Moncton region.

Francophone South schools in Baie Ste Anne, Miramichi, Richibucto, Rogersville and Saint Louis de Kent are closed today due to weather.

Anglophone North schools in Miramichi, Rexton and Bathurst are closed today.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Andy Firth says there will be mixed conditions in the Greater Moncton area, “We could receive up to 25 millimetres of rain in the southern part, closer to the Nova Scotia border. The northern part of the Moncton grouping, we are looking at 15 centimetres of snowfall.”

He expects it will all start later this morning as snow and then changeover to rain by the afternoon.

Conditions could get a bit dicey on the roads, but Firth doesn’t expect there will be much blowing snow.
