UPDATE: Moncton Man Charged, Woman Hurt After Gunshot

A 32-year-old Moncton man has been charged with several offences after a gun was fired and a woman was hurt.

Jake Allen Woods faces charges related to the reckless and careless use of a firearm and possessing a prohibited weapon without a licence.

Around 11 o’clock Wednesday night, Codiac RCMP were called to a home in the 300 block of High Street after receiving a call of a gunshot.

A 40-year-old woman was taken to hospital with what police believe are non-life threatening injuries.

A man was arrested a short time later.

Jake Allen Woods remains in custody and will be back in court on Monday for a bail hearing.
