Tenants And Pets Rescued From Early Morning Apartment Fire

At least three people were taken to hospital this morning after a fire at a multi unit apartment building on Norman Street.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Brian Gaudet says the call came in just before 4 this morning fire started in a first floor unit which is partially below ground, but it spread from there.

“When we arrived, we had people trapped on the second floor. The fire had made its way out of the apartment and into the hallway. The main area for the second and third floors were blocked off by the fire. We had to evacuate those tenants using aerial and ground ladders, ” Gaudet says.
