Motorists Dealing With Slippery Roads On Stormy Morning

It was a slippery morning for a Codiac Transpo driver.

City of Moncton Spokesperson Isabelle Leblanc says a tow truck was called to Main Street and Vaughn Harvey at around 7:30am this morning after the driver hit an icy patch at the intersection.

The bus went up onto the median, but she says it did not hit the pole.

No one was hurt and there is no damage to the lights and pole at the intersection.

The province is currently under a winter storm warning. Up to 30 centimetres of snow and ice pellets are expected to fall today.

Environment Canada is also forecasting up to 70 kilometre an hour winds, which are causing whiteout conditions.

Travel is not recommended on many routes due to zero visibility.
