Slippery Conditions Expected With Arrival Of Freezing Rain And Ice Pellets On Friday Morning

We have freezing rain in the forecast again.

A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada yesterday remains in effect.

Meteorologist Sarah Carmichael tells us what we can expect, “There is going to be a low pressure system that is going to track north of the province tomorrow and ahead of that, we have some mixed precipitation that is basically going to start off as freezing rain and ice pellets and it is going to eventually change to rain as the temperature increases.”

Carmichael says it expected to start late overnight and continue into the morning. It isn’t expected to transition into rain until closer to noon.

She says they are continuing to monitor this system because it hasn’t met the criteria for a warning just yet, but that may still come as the day progresses.
