Workshop On Anxiety To Be Held In Riverview

Anxiety is one of the common mental health concerns for youth in Canada, that according to a Counselling Therapist in Riverview.

Kerri Gaskin says she is seeing more and more young children who are suffering from it.

She’ll host a workshop next week for parents, “To give parents an understanding of basically what is anxiety and how does it manifest differently in children versus adults. The symptoms might be different in children as compared to adults. It will help parents to understand for example, a sore belly can be a symptom anxiety. Discovering is the best thing, to try and figure out if anxiety is what you are seeing. Parents will also be able to talk to others parents who are experiencing the same things.”

Pre-registration for the February 7th event is required.

“Anxiety is one of the most treatable mental health concerns, and that is an exciting thing, because we can work with it, ” Gaskin says.
