The Cities of Moncton and Dieppe say they are both disappointed in the decision by the Higgs government – but they understand the reasoning.
Both municipalities stated they were supportive of this important project, and were ready to have future discussions if options should arise.
Both Dieppe and Moncton had committed $750,000 to the Games.
The City of Moncton said the cultural, sports, and economic impacts in the region could be significant, and they were disappointed higher levels of government couldn’t reach a deal.
Both organizations thanked everyone who worked on the 2021 Francophonie Games project.
