Heavy Snowfall Cancels School And Leaves Motorists In The Ditch

The cleanup continues today after a dumping of snow on parts of the province yesterday.

Just over 22 centimetres of snow, and five millimetres of rain fell at the Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport.

Emergency responders were called to numerous accidents throughout the day. Many for vehicles that ended up in the ditch due to slippery conditions.

We saw rain later in the day, after temperatures rose above zero.

At first, schools districts weren’t going to close schools, and a delay of buses was expected, but by 6:30am, the situation changed. With whiteout conditions, schools were closed for the day.

This morning, roads are still a bit slick this morning with fluctuating temperatures.
