Santa Claus has begun his journey to deliver presents all over the world. Earlier this month, prior to his flight, Transport Canada inspectors travelled to the North Pole to inspect Santa’s sleigh and its safety systems to make sure the landing gear and the reindeer harnesses, as well as the communications and navigation systems were all in good shape. Rudolph’s nose was tested to make sure that it is operating at maximum brightness.
According to a video with Transportation Minister Marc Garneau, Santa may be flying with a co-pilot this year. He received a call from Mrs Claus a few days ago.
“I have received your pre-flight check list and it is already approved by Transport Canada. You also passed your medical examine and your pilot’s examine with flying colours. You are cleared for take-off and thank you very much,” Garneau told Mrs. Claus.
Mrs. Claus says she has been training to obtain her pilot’s license.
Garneau added that Transport Canada has been working to encourage more women into the Aviation field to address the pilot shortage.
