New North End School To Include Students In Valhalla Estates

There’s still no word on when a new north end middle school will open, but the Superintendent for Anglophone East says there will be some slight boundary changes beforehand.

Gregg Ingersoll says the plan is to move kids in the Valhalla Estates neighbourhood to a north end school.

The currently boundary has students going to Queen Elizabeth School, “I think the way the boundary currently is, it will be Northrop Frye for elementary and of course the middle school they all go together. That was the intent in the past, when Evergreen park School opened they were supposed to go there, but there was not room. Then when Northrop Frye opened, they were supposed to go there, but again, there was no room. Now, there will be room for Valhalla.”

Ingersoll says this will be effective in the fall of 2019.

“We’ll be making that transition, and students living in the Valhalla area will be attending the school in the north end,” Ingersoll says.

The school was expected to open at the beginning of that school year, but it has been delayed and the district hasn’t been given a firm opening date.
