Moncton Spends $77,000 On Blue Green Algae Study

The City of Moncton is spending almost $80,000 to study the issue of blue green algae in the City’s reservoirs.

In the fall of 2017, a blue green algae bloom was discovered in the upper reservoir of the Turtle Creek watershed.

City Council approved the agreement with Dalhousie University, which will allow access to information resulting from other research directions in Atlantic Canada.

The study will cost $11,000 this year, then $22,000 annually for the next three years for a total price tag of $77,000.
