Green Party Leader To Meet With Lieutenant Governor, Other Party Leaders

One week after a provincial election that saw voters choose the first minority government in almost a century, the future is still up in the air.

Green Party leader David Coon says what remains undecided is which leader can gain enough support to win a confidence vote in the Legislature.

He will be meeting with Lieutenant Governor Jocelynne Roy-Vienneau, and the other political party leaders this week to discuss that topic.

Coon says the Greens will work with MLAs from all parties on bills serving the common good.

Last week, People’s Alliance Party leader Kris Austin committed to supporting a PC government for 18 months on a vote by vote basis.

Meanwhile, the Liberals, under leader Brian Gallant, have stated there will be no deal with the People’s Alliance, and they are eyeing a coalition with the Greens to govern.
