The Riverview Skate Park needs your votes.
The only indoor skateboard facility in Atlantic Canada has entered a contest through the Aviva Community Fund, with the chance to be awarded up to 100 thousand dollars.
Manager Ross Smith says they’ve haven’t had any major upgrades in the past 13 years.
“Skateboarding has become a lot more versatile. Now that it is in the Olympics, it has become much more family friendly. We are looking at adjusting our current set up, offering more skills levels through the novice to expert.”
Smith says it has been 13 years since they opened, and they would like to make some improvements, “Basically, we are at the point now, where the current existing ramps needs some upgrades. That would benefit a lot of people, because we see guests from Nova Scotia, and from PEI. We’ve seen people from France, from Hong Kong, and China, from all over the world.”
You are able to cast your votes now, each day, until October 10th.
