The September equinox, otherwise known as Autumn or fall depending on what you prefer to call it will arrive at 10:54 tonight.
It’s the season of change with leaves turning colour and falling off trees and temperatures starting to turn cooler.
But Senior Meteorologist with Accuweather Brett Anderson says we may see some unusual temperatures for Atlantic Canada.
“We do think temperatures will be averaging about one to two degrees Celsius above normal, on average,” says Anderson. “Humidity wise, I do think the humidity is going to stay up fairly high compared to normal, certainly through September.”
He adds fall foliage coming into full colour may be delayed this year.
“My gut feeling is we’re going to see five to seven days later than usual where we peak in terms of fall colour,” says Anderson.
