Moncton firefighters quickly extinguished a fire on the front deck of a home in the north end overnight.
Platoon Chief Rob Brine says they arrived at the Salengro Crescent home at around 12:30am this morning.
The residents reported the fire after their smoke detector went off.
Brine says the residents were evacuated, but they returned to the home once the fire was out.
There’s damage to the deck and soffitts.
Brine says there’s no word yet on what caused it.
