The Atlantic Wellness Community Centre is warning the community they do not raise money through door to door canvassing.
The caution comes after the AWCC was alerted by a Riverview resident of an older man going door to door asking for money on behalf of the organization.
The incident reportedly took place near the Fast Fuel/Tim Horton’s on Whitepine Road.
They say this man does not represent them despite having a bucket with what appears to be the AWCC logo.
They add while they are grateful for community support and donations, they will always request help through appropriate channels.
They are asking anyone approached at their door for money in support of the AWCC to report the incident to Codiac RCMP.
