Police say a man has been arrested following a fatal crash on Highway 11 at Black River Bridge, N.B., near Miramichi.
Mounties say a southbound vehicle crossed the centre line and hit an oncoming vehicle around 9 p.m. on Tuesday and the driver fled the scene.
A 44-year-old man from Bouctouche, who was a passenger in the southbound vehicle, died at the scene, while another passenger was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was also taken hospital, where he was treated and later released.
A 45-year-old man from Bouctouche was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Police say their investigation is continuing.
