Upgrades Almost Completed On CN Overpass

The CN overpass in downtown Moncton recently was recently upgraded to help beautify the Main Street.

Those improvements include the planting of maple trees, as well as raspberry and rose bushes, to beautify along Foundry Street just behind the CN overpass. That’s thanks to $25,000 from CN and Trees Canada. The City of Moncton also matched that amount.

Mayor Dawn Arnold says other work has also been done, “The painting is done. There are some little wrought iron gates separating the sidewalk from the road, and the sidewalks have been redone. There will also be LED lighting, but it has not been installed. It is backorder, but it will be in very soon too.”

Just up the street, the official opening of the Avenir Centre was held over the weekend, with the first show planned for Wednesday night.
