The 33rd annual Atlantic Balloon Fiesta has taken to the sky.
Spokesperson Debbie Harris says a few familiar crowd pleasers have returned this year.
“Thirty balloons that are going to be on site this weekend. We have a brother/sister combination shape that the kids are going to love. We have the whale back again this year and we have the alien back again this year.”
Harris says the balloons and pilots are handpicked from all over the world, “We have one from Brazil, an American and also many from Atlantic Canada as well. A lot of them are crowd favourites.”
The Fiesta gets crowds of over 70, 000 spectators each year, who also come from across North America.
