A Mount Allison University associate political science professor believes the New Brunswick election will be a tight race.
Although it’s just getting started and a lot can happen, Dr. Mario Levesque says the race could come down to a few key ridings around the province.
“Ed Doherty’s riding in Saint John Harbour – he’s not running – so that riding has the potential to change hands. We have to watch Chris Collins in Moncton Centre because he’s running as an independent candidate instead of as a Liberal candidate.”
Levesque notes political leaders in New Brunswick appear to be living in a vacuum and don’t seem to have any long-term vision.
He adds they are only thinking about the next day and how to enhance their parties and maintain power.
