State Of Emergency Declared In BC As Wildfires Continue

The province of British Columbia has declared a state of emergency, due to the number of wildfires and the residents affected.

The state of emergency was declared yesterday by the Minister of Public Safety Mike Farnworth.

There are over 560 wildfires, and over 3000 people have been affected by evacuation orders.

Since the start of the fire season in BC on April 1st, crews have battled over 1800 fires.

Over 3300 BC Wildfire Service personnel are continuing to support the ongoing efforts.
