The pre-election announcements just keep coming in New Brunswick.
Last week saw job creation announcements for companies like Computer Generated Solutions, Health and Technology District and Sentrex Wind Services, who will all benefit through help from Opportunities NB.
Premier Brian Gallant was asked about the criticism these announcements receive and points out these international companies do not have to come here.
“Wyndham and CGS are businesses that would certainly have many opportunities to go elsewhere, go to other jurisdictions and grow and invest in other provinces and states, and they chose to invest here in New Brunswick,” said Gallant. “We’re very pleased that they’re creating job opportunities for the people of our province.”
Phil Friedman came back to Saint John to make a deal to buy a company — which become the Canadian division of CGS — after first visiting the city on a cruise ship 30 years earlier.
Gallant said you never know when tourism might lead to a business opportunity for the province.
“That may lead to people wanting to move here, it may lead to people wanting to consistently come visit us, it may lead to people that are in the business sectors that want to invest here,” he said.
