22-Year Old Elsipogtog First Nation Woman’s Death Deemed Suspicious

An investigation is underway by Southeast District RCMP after a young woman was found dead on Elsipogtog First Nation.

Provincial RCMP spokesperson Corporal Jullie Rogers-Marsh says around 2:30 Saturday morning police were called about a person who had died at a residence on Main Street.

“Police found a 22-year old woman from Elsipogtog deceased outside the residence, her death is considered suspicious and the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating,” says Rogers-Marsh..

She adds a man was taken into custody Saturday, and an autopsy will be performed Sunday to help confirm the exact cause of death.
