MLA Chris Collins Told To Apologize and Seek Anti-Harassment Training

Moncton Centre MLA Chris Collins has been told by the province’s legislative committee to write a letter of apology and to complete anti-harassment and sensitivity training.

That decision was reached by the Committe on Friday afternoon over actions by the former Speaker of the House.

Earlier this week, the committee said the complaint against Collins by a civil servant was founded “in part” and was also a violation of the Province of New Brunswick’s workplace harassment policy.

Collins was removed from the Liberal caucus this spring and now sits as an independent.

Based on legal advice, the committee has determined that the appropriate actions are to have Collins write the letter and complete the training within 30 days.

The committee says it now considers this matter to be resolved.
